Victoria Government Solar Rebate: What Is It?
To accelerate Victoria’s move towards a renewable energy system, the Victorian government offers rebates and subsidies to encourage solar technology. Residential property owners can receive a rebate of $1,400 off their Solar System. The rebate is applied once you sign the contract, so it’s paid directly to your installer by Solar Victoria. Get an Interest-free $1400 Loan, If You Are Eligible
If you are eligible for the rebate, then you are also eligible for an interest-free loan of $1400 to reduce your out-of-pocket expenses for the balance after the rebate. The loan repayment period is four years, and the loan is repaid directly to Solar Victoria through direct debit. For a loan, the only additional requirement is that your estimated savings from a solar system per month should be greater than your loan repayment amount. It is almost always the case!

Solar Battery Rebate
The solar battery rebate program is available in every Victorian postcode. The rebates for solar batteries will remain unchanged at $4,174 until all rebates in 2020–21 have been allocated. Then they will reduce it to $3,500.
Solar for Rental Properties
Through the Solar for Rentals program, qualified rental providers can receive a rebate of up to $1,400 for installing solar panels (PV) on their property, slashing the upfront cost of solar while increasing the value and appeal of the property. To further reduce the upfront cost of the solar panel system, eligible rental providers can also apply for an interest-free loan of up to $1,400.
